Four buildings illegally constructed demolished in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The Executive Officer of Tinsukia Municipality Niluram Sarma swooped down on 'illegal structures' and demolished extended parts of four buildings against all odds that were constructed 'illegally' on Saturday. Despite several notices served on the owners, they declined to abide by the notices issued by the authority. According to Sarma, there are more than 30 'illegal structures' under Tinsukia Municipality which will be demolished in phased manner. Sarma's action has been widely appreciated though he reportedly faced stiff objections from various quarters even a section of Municipality employees allegedly were displeased for reasons best known to them.
