Four die in accident in Cachar's Kalain area

SILCHAR: In a tragic incident on Friday evening, in a brick factory named SABI in Kalain area of Cachar, at least four persons were killed. The incident happened as the chimney of a brick kiln was broken. At least 20 persons were seriously injured and had been shifted to Silchar Medical College Hospital.

Local eyewitnesses said, this evening while the farmers were setting the coal on fire in the kiln its chimney suddenly crashed. Two people including a 12-year-old boy died on the spot. Another two died in SMCH.

Sources indicated that the accident happened because of manufacturing fault in the kiln which was reportedly too old.
