According to police sources, four underage girls from Assam who were reportedly trafficked were rescued by the Assam Police in a multi-state operation. The minor girls were rescued from Rajasthan & Uttar Pradesh.
The Assam Police, in conjunction with the police forces of the states where the minor girls were trafficked, arrested three traffickers.
"Kudos Assam Police! In a smart multi-state op @KamrupPolice has rescued 4 girls of Assam who had been trafficked. They were rescued from Jaipur, Rajasthan & Gomti Nagar, UP," tweeted the Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The minor girls have been identified as Smt Joyaton Nessa from the Kamrup district and Smt Marjina & Sri Faijuddin from Hojai.
According to authorities, a lady was recently detained in Assam following a complaint made by the girls' parents at Chaygaon police station in Kamrup Rural district.
The Assam police informed their counterparts in the two states based on her information and successfully managed to nab them in a joint operation.
On June 17, a team led by district Additional Superintendent of Police Asif Ahmed and Officer in Charge of Chaygaon police station Kopil Pathak traveled to the two states, rescued the girls, and nabbed the three traffickers.
On Thursday, the girls were sent to the northeastern state for medical evaluation.
According to them, the traffickers are being transferred to Assam on transit remand.
Since the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP administration took control of the state, the Assam Police have been on high alert for anti-social illegal criminal activities in the state.
In other news, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma pledged to the parents of a nine-year-old girl who was reportedly raped and murdered in Morigaon district a few days ago that justice would be served swiftly. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed Morigaon SP Aparna Natarajan to speed the investigation and arrest the perpetrators.
