Four persons arrested for allegedly raping minor in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: Four persons who allegedly raped a 15-year old minor girl on Sunday, were arrested - two immediately after lodging of the FIR and one on Monday by police. One of the accused surrendered before the police on Monday.

The four accused - Biki Rai, Bikash Rai, Broutli alias Pradip Das and Ganguru alias Monoj Thapa - kidnapped the minor girl while she was returning home at Chandmarit from her sister's residence at Convoy Road and allegedly raped her in the jungle of the tea estate near AMCH. The police jumped into action as soon as the girl lodged the complaint at Dibrugarh Police Station and arrested both Biki Rai and Bikash Rai and lodged a case.

The police, while pursuing the investigation, nabbed absconding Broutli alias Pradip Das on Monday morning. The other accused, Monoj Thapa, within an hour of Pradip's arrest, surrendered before the police. A case (no.989/20) has been registered at Dibrugarh Police Station. Further investigation is on.
