Four persons die of COVID in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: Four persons lost their lives due to COVID-9 in Sonitpur district on Tuesday. They have been identified as Kiran Chandra Bora (63), Gauranga Gowala, Badal Baruah (70) and Priya Kanta Nath (73), residents of Tezpur who died at TMCH, taking the death toll to 48 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

Altogether 4,304 tests were done across the district on Tuesday, out of which 3,993 were RAT and rest RT-PCR and among the new fresh 275 positive found, 268 cases were from RAT and 7 from RT-PCR, thereby increasing the total number of active cases in the district during the second wave to 1,766. The total number of COVID deaths in the district has increased to 68 since May of the last year till today.
