Four persons die while cleaning well at Hailakandi's village Anowarpur

SILCHAR: In a tragic incident, four persons, three from the same family, died while cleaning the well of their own. The incident happened on Saturday at Anowarpur, a village near Bakrihaor under Algapur Circle in Hailakandi. The deceased persons were identified as Rashid Ahmed, his brother Najimuddin, Abu Sohel and Hasib Uddin. Abu Sohel is the son of Najimuddin while Hasib Uddin is a day labourer.

Sources said, Rashid Ahmed was the first to fall down inside the well while cleaning it. Then Najimuddin went down to the well to save his brother. Abu Sohel along with Hasib did the same to save his father. Subsequently, two more persons went down to the well. However, by that time SDRF was alerted and they rescued those two persons. One of them had been shifted to Silchar Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
