LAKHIMPUR: Four returnees from Bengaluru detected positive for COVID-19 in Lakhimpur district on Sunday. They have been identified as Ratul Borah (24), Jatin Borah (35), Nitul Borah (24), residents of No. 1 Khalihamari and Ripul Borkotoki (33), resident of Sarukathoni village under Hawajan area.

As per report, all of them were working in a private sector company named APMS Falcon City Property in Bengaluru. They returned to Lakhimpur by flight on June 25 and reached New Delhi on June 26 at night. On the same day, they came to Guwahati from New Delhi by flight. Then they reached Lakhimpur by bus on June 27. They were quarantined at Hotel Orbit in North Lakhimpur town and their swab samples were collected. They were shifted to the Dedicated COVID Health Centre set up at Boginadi Model Hospital after their swab test result came positive.

With these four patients, the number of COVID-19 cases increased up to 114 in Lakhimpur district. Out of them, 72 patients were discharged while 36 are active cases.
