Dibrugarh: In their bid to bring the area under police domain on the eve of Independence Day, Dibrugarh Police achieved great success by arresting four ULFA (I) linkmen, later identified as Kanak Pegu, a ward boy of a local nursing home, Chayanika Kamang, a lecturer of Arohon Academy, Bokakhat, Kabita Kamang, sister of Chayanika who is a student of a local coaching centre, and Deba Jyoti Duwara. The police seized ULFA’s flag, seven mobile phone sets and some incriminating documents, including a Maoist book, from their possessions.

All the arrested persons were under police trail since a long period after receiving inputs from sources that they were working as linkmen for ULFA (I). However, the police refused to share more details on the issue for the sake of investigation.
