Four youths from Assam killed in accident in Arunachal Pradesh

Nagaon: Four youths hailing from Nagaon, Morigaon and Tezpur were killed in a tragic road mishap near Zero in Arunachal Pradesh. Bodies of the youths as well as the ill-fated vehicle were spotted in a 200-feet ditch on the National Highway near Zero in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday morning, sources said. The tragic accident took place when the Volkswagen car fell down into a 200-feet ditch from the road due to thick fog across the road, sources added further.

The youths - identified as Vedanta Bormohila of Nagaon Laokhuwa road, Nayan Basumotary of Kandali Borkocharigaon, Hirok Bodo of Jagiroad in the Morigaon district and Sanjeev Das of Tezpur - went to Arunachal Pradesh for a summer tour in a Volkswagen car bearing registration number AS 01 BP 0605 on July 18 and since then they all went missing.

Their mobile phones were switched off after they left due to which their family members could not contact with any of them. Meanwhile, the family members of Nayan Basumotary as well as Vedanta Bormohila lodged an FIR in Nagaon PS on Thursday afternoon.

Vedanta Bormohila was a meritorious student and completed his engineering degree recently. He was also a leading sports bike rider. He frequently visited Arunachal Pradesh and other parts of the Northeast on bike. The unfortunate demise of the four youths have cast a pall of gloom in their native places.
