Fraudster Rintu Hazarika nabbed on charge of collecting cash for jobs

NAGAON: Rintu Hazarika, a resident of Barhampur Putoni area was arrested on charge of collecting cash for jobs from several unemployed youths of the district on Sunday. Sources at Nagaon police claimed that a team from Nagaon police station caught him red-handed while accepting a sum of Rs 10,000 from one Himanshu Dutta of Nonoi area.

Sources alleged that the arrested Rintu Hazarika introduced himself as a close associate of a local BJP MLA and a heavy weight BJP minister to some unemployed youths of the greater Nonoi areas and allegedly collected several lakhs from several unemployed youths of the areas by luring them to provide jobs in various government departments.

Meanwhile, he also provided a fake grade IV appointment letter to one Abdul Manan of Nonoi Koshupit area recently for which the victim filed a case at Nagaon police station. Apart from this, the arrested fraudster Rintu Hazarika also collected a sum of Rs 2,00,000 from one Dipak Das and Rs 70,000 from Baishisthya Konwar of Nonoi area a few months back for which the victims also filed different cases in Nagaon PS.
