Free eye operation camp by Lions and Leo Club, sends 27 cataract patients to Guwahati for operation

DHUBRI: Lions and Leo Club of Dhubri organized a free eye operation camp on Sunday with a mission to control blindness in Dhubri district. After screening of eyes, they sent a batch of 27 cataract surgery patients by train to Guwahati Lions Eye Hospital free of cost. Out of them, 24 patients will be operated on Wednesday by Dr Anamika Baisya.

Manoj Roy, National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB), and Ophthalmic team from Dhubri Health Department had rendered their valuable services during the eye screening camp to make the camp successful, said secretary of Lions Club of Dhubri, Sanjay Sethia. Lion president Suresh Kuma Harlalka, treasurer Sanjay Chhaochharia, Medical chairman Rohit Tantia, Nirupom Chandra Ghosh, Leo Rajat Bharuka, Raj Mukim, Rishi Kurmi, Rohit Sharma, Mohit Agarwal and other members were present and participated in the eye screening camp.
