Freedom Run as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrates across Goalpara district

GOALPARA: The 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, India @ 75' festival is being celebrated all over Goalpara district by several organizations. In this regard, a freedom run has been organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Goalpara, both in town and 75 rural areas. The freedom run will be conducted on Saturday with youth volunteers as well as the local dignitaries participating in it.

The district programme is scheduled to begin from the office of the Deputy Commissioner and will be flagged off by Meenakshi Das Nath, Goalpara DC. Running across the places of significance, the programme will conclude at the Durga Mandir area of the town.

Meanwhile, as per the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change guidelines, the Eco Clubs in Goalpara district celebrated the Mahotsav through week-long programmes from August 20 to August 26 with the focal theme 'Water Conservation and Rain Water Harvesting'.

Befitting the Mahotsav, GEOID FORUM, Goalpara, the district nodal agency, and Eco Clubs in the district organized plantation programme, popular talk sharing, recorded short videos, and drawing and essay competitions.
