Guwahati: From today 15th January, Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Samiti will start fundraising campaign for the construction of Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya  and will continue till 30. This was informed by Dr. Ram Umesh Chakraborty, general secretary of Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Samiti, Assam in a press conference held on Tuesday at Dispur Press Club in Guwahati.

Dr. Ram Umesh Chakraborty said, "The campaign will be start From January 15 ( upcoming Makar Sankranti) to February 27 (Magh Purnima) across the country.

The campaign will be conducted in every village in Assam which will cover around 16,708 villages in 60 wards of Guwahati city.

The construction of the grand Ram Mandir of Lord Ram at the ancient city of Ayodhya is an estimated cost of around Rs 1,100 crore, of which around Rs 300 to 400 crore will be the cost of building the main structure of the temple. And to collect the amount 'Nidhi Samarpan Jan Abhiyan' has been introduced by the government.

The campaign aims to collect up to Rs. 20-25 crores from Assam.

Receipts coupons of Rs 10, Rs 100, and Rs 1,000 have been printed by the central government and anyone who wishes to donate Rs. 2,000 or more will be given a receipt.

The fundraising will be completely transparent and the money collected will be credited to the bank accounts of State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, and Bank of Baroda.

On November 9, 2019, in a historic judgment, the Supreme Court paved the way for the construction of the grand Ram Mandir and directed the Central Government to hand over the site at Ayodhya to build the Ram Mandir and to set up a trust.

On August 5, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the 'bhoomi pujan' of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
