TINSUKIA: As part of 'Operation Sadbhavna' activities undertaken by the Indian Army in upper Assam, the Rupai Battalion under the aegis of Red Shield Division and Spear Corps provided school furniture to Indira Gandhi High School, Laipuli on the outskirts of Tinsukia on Friday. The furniture was handed over to the Headmaster of the school, Mukunda Mahanta in presence of the gaonburah Debokanta Gohain and Colonel (retd) Chaitanya Gohain. The latest activity by the Army aims at improving basic amenities in Indira Gandhi High School, thereby attracting maximum attendance of students and improving the overall infrastructure of the school. The Army in upper Assam has been doing commendable job by not only doing successful counter-insurgency operations but also touching the hearts of the local populace by improving their lives. This initiative of the Indian Army was appreciated and welcomed by village elders and the local populace.
