Tezpur: To commemorate the 73rd Independence Day celebration, Tezpur based Gajraj Corps organized a mini marathon run with an endeavour to foster the spirit of peace, unity and fitness as well as civil-military bonhomie for the local populace on Sunday morning.
The event saw the participation of around 2,100 participants, including 350 serving defence personnel, from places in and around Tezpur. In a glittering ceremony, the race was flagged off by Lt Gen Manoj Pande, GOC 4 Corps, in the presence of a number of civil dignitaries at Polofield. The event proved to be a befitting tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs with participation from all ages and groups. At the end, a prize distribution ceremony was held for the winners of both male and female categories.
