KOKRAJHAR: Ex- MCLA of BTC Rwngwra Narzary who led the Opposition bench in the BTC Legislative Assembly has said that the Gana Suraksha Mancha (GSP) was not at all a factor for the UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) as the Mancha has already split.

Talking to reporters at a huge public gathering at Ashrabari in Chirang district, Narzary said the new government in the BTC led by the UPPL became certain. He said the UPPL will get over 30 seats from 40 BTC constituencies. He stressed that the people of the region had desired a new change to end corruption and domination of the BPF (Bodoland People's Front) and thus people are coming out with open mind to establish a good governance. He also said the fight would be between the ruling BPF and UPPL but not with the GSP which is now a sinking ship.

Meanwhile, the founder of UPPL and former Rajya Sabha MP UG Brahma said the party was heading towards formation of new government in the council. He said, "You are getting ready to vote for change like soldiers in the war field. We will bring new change in BTR by wisdom, comprehensive policies, peacefuly and democratically but not as that of BPF which used to terrorize people and promote nepotism."
