SARUPATHAR: Trinayan Bhuyan, Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO), and his team, on Saturday launched crackdown on a gang of armed dacoits that had reportedly looted Rs 2 lakh from a petrol pump named Shyam Services in Sarupathar on August 13.
In the reference to case no. 91/21 under section 392/427 Indian Panel Code pertaining to robbery at Shyam Services fuel station in Sarupathar on August 13 night, the cops nab four persons from the Naoghat area along the Golaghat-Karbi Anglong border. The accused persons were identified as Rupam Khaklary, son of Sonamol Khaklary from Majgaon sector C under Uriamghat PS, Naba Kanta Bodo, son of Nila Kanta Boro from Jayapathar sector C under Uriamghat PS, Rakesh Ingti, son of Hemmari Ingti from Gandhipur under Bokajan PS, and Ken Terang, son of Borasu Terang under Bokajan PS, and recovered two .32 pistols and 10 rounds live ammunition from their position.
Later, SDPO Trinayan Bhuyan said, "The gang was involved in robbery, snatching cash from the fuel station in Sarupathar. We apprehended all four miscreants." The SDPO also added, "Securing public life and property remains our topmost priority."
