SIVASAGAR: A life skill programme on 'Nurturing Growth Mindset' was organized by the Parent-Teacher Association, Department of Mathematics, Gargaon College in collaboration with IQAC, Gargaon College on Wednesday.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal, Gargaon College. Dr Mahanta greeted the resource person and members of the parent-teacher association and praised the efforts of the Department of Mathematics, Gargaon College. He also inaugurated a new ICT classroom in the Department of Mathematics established with combined effort of the parents as well as the teachers.

Dr Mahanta, in his inaugural speech emphasized the contribution of parents and the role that both teachers and parents together play in the life of the students. He motivated the students to inculcate SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity and threats) analysis in every situation for a growth mindset.

Dr Kabita Phukan, Head of the Mathematics Department delivered the welcome address and Sujata Goala highlighted the objective of the occasion. Harekrishna Mili introduced the speaker of the session, Dr Pranjal Buragohain from the Department of Education, Dibrugarh University.

Dr Pranjal Buragohain emphasized the importance of growth mindset in accomplishing life objectives. To succeed in life, one must never stop growing, which necessitates continuous learning. His presentation was participatory, and he urged students to embrace changes in their

lives as opportunities for development and expansion. During his presentation, he included a few activities to help students better instill the growth mindset in their personalities. He underlined the need of seeking out opportunities to learn. The programme was attended by members of parents-teachers association, student fraternity, professors, and staff of Gargaon College.
