Garigaon Rape Case: Two More Accused Land in Police Net

GUWAHATI: Assam police arrested two more accused in Guwahati's Garigaon rape case on Friday.

The arrested accused were identified as Faijul Ali and Puna Ali and were hiding in Morigaon district of Assam post the incident.

Notably, following the incident, both Faijul and Puna, as well as the other two accused (Pinku Ali and Raja Ahmed) was absconding, however they are still on the loose.

Meanwhile, the prime accused in the Guwahati gang rape case has been killed in an incident of firing by the Assam police on last Tuesday night.

As per reports, the accused Biki Ali was shot by the personnel of Assam police when he allegedly tried to flee from custody.

Biki Ali was shot when he tried to flee from custody when he was taken to the crime scene late on Tuesday night for the reconstruction of the crime, said police.

Assam police have arrested Biki Ali, one of the five accused in the Garigaon gang rape case. He was nabbed from Dampur hills of Kamrup district where he was hiding to avoid arrest.

The case has been registered under Sections 376 (D) of the IPC, Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and 67(B) of the IT Act against the five accused. Following the incident, all the five accused were on the run.
