Gauhati University NSS Cell and WGCC celebrate National Youth Day

 GUWAHATI: National Youth Day and 160th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda were celebrated by West Guwahati Commerce College and Gauhati University NSS Cell on 12th January 2023 in the college premises.

Attending as the chief guest in the programme, Dr Ranjan Kr. Kakati, Director Students' welfare, GU and PC, GU NSS Cell spoke about the importance of National Youth Day and the role youths can play in the development of the Nation. Dr Kakati, while paying his tributes to Swami Vivekananda, recalled how Swamiji has played a great role in inspiring youths of the world and India in particular. Dr Kakati also spoke on sustainable development goals to the NSS volunteers and the students. Participating in the program, BN Dutta, Principal (i/c), WGCC spoke about the works and responsibilities of the youths of the new generation. S Debnath, Librarian, WGCC spoke about the life, philosophies and principles of Swami Vivekananda, a press release said.
