Gauripur Police of Dhubri district arrested one with fake Indian currency

DHUBRI: Acting on specific information, Gauripur Police of Dhubri district arrested one Fazlul Haque, 39 with fake Indian currency from Beparipatty area of Gauripur town on Saturday. A resident of Tiamari Part II under Gauripur Police Station, Haque was allegedly involved in the fake currency racket for a quite long time and when he was thoroughly searched, police recovered Rs 4,650 fake Indian currency from his possession.

A police source said that during preliminary interrogation, Haque said that he along with his associates had been running the business of smuggling of FICN and cattle smuggling in the bordering areas for a long time. His linkages with cattle smuggling are being investigated, sources added. A case was registered in Gouripur Police Station Case No. 33/2022 U/S 489(A),489(B),489(C) IPC.
