GOALPARA: The English Department of Goalpara College on Monday organized a national-level webinar on the topic 'Literature, Environment and Pandemic'. The webinar had three plenary sessions chaired by three eminent professors from different universities of India. Prof. Mukesh Ranjan from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, Prof. Nandana Dutta from Gauhati University and Dr Saugata Kr. Nath from Assam University. Approximately 300 participants from Maharashtra, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala participated in the webinar. Dr. Subash Barman, Principal of Goalpara College, delivered the inaugural speech. He emphasized arranging webinars to impart education unabated during the lockdown period.
The national webinar was initiated by Mozbul Haque Choudhury, Assistant Professor and coordinator of the webinar. The vote of thanks was offered by Loni Baruah, Head of the English department, Goalpara College. The coordinator of the IQAC, Goalpara College, Dr Dulal Baruah and Manabendra Sarma, Assistant Professor from B. Borooah College, Guwahati, immensely contributed in making the programme a success. Besides English Department, the other departments of the Goalpara College have been regularly organizing webinars which are playing a pivotal role in satisfying the needs of both the students as well as the budding teachers, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
