Gohpur police arrested Four with fake gold, cash from Bangalmara

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Acting on a tip off, police arrested four people in a search operation conducted by the Gohpur police from Bangalmara in Lakhimpur district, one of the main hubs for fake gold trade in north Assam. According to information, the men, arrested along with fake gold and cash, were identified as Anawara Begum (40), Narjima Begum (19), Nazmul Haque (19) and Abdul Munnas (60). They were arrested from Sonapur No. 2 at Bangalmara in an operation conducted in the wee hours on Saturday by Gohpur police. The police search team managed to seize fake gold weighing about half a kg and Rs 6 lakh 60 thousand in cash from the possession of the four arrested persons. The arrested persons were brought to Gohpur police station from Bangalmara. Investigation is on.
