Golaghat AACSU and Motor Sramik Union stage protest

GOLAGHAT: Activists of All Assam Chutia Students' Union (AACSU) Golaghat unit and Motor Sramik Union on Friday staged protest near the office of the Deputy Commissioner against eviction of their offices.

More than 200 members of the organizations gathered near the Deputy Commissioner's office and shouted various slogans against the district administration. Taking part in the protest, AACSU all Assam general secretary Mohen Bora said that without prior notice, the Golaghat administration carried out eviction drive in the offices of AACSU and Motor Sramik Union. He further said that illegal encroachment had taken place in several places of the district but the administration chose to ignore these illegal encroachments and only evict the offices of AACSU and Motor Sramik Union. They demanded allotment of land to the respective organizations.
