GOLAGHAT: Dr P Uday Praveen, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Golaghat held a review meeting with the concerned officials of the Education department at the conference hall of the DC office on various issues including school dropouts, education for the specially-abled children and quality education in all govt schools.

He emphasized cluster-wise survey & monitoring with a special focus on where the pass percentage in the HSLC examination is very low in the district. He also discussed the dropout rate of specially-abled students and suggest to generate awareness among them through social media platforms and various other means of publicity. He stressed ensuring quality education among the students so that they can develop all of their attributes and skills in their respective schools itself. The meeting was attended by Dr Sangeeta Borthakur ADC (Education), Dr Samiran Bora, Inspector of Schools, Golaghat & officials concerned.

He chaired another meeting to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Golaghat district in the conference hall of the DC office. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the work and progress of Functional Household Tap Connections(FHTCs) for providing drinking water under the JJM scheme in the district. He instructed all concerned officials to speed up the work under JJM so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated period.
