GOLAGHAT: The District Administration of Golaghat and District election office under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign have intensified voters' awareness programmes throughout the district of Golaghat.

Speech competitions in colleges, street theatres, online rangoli competitions, sticker pasting drives on gas cylinders are some of the noted initiatives being undertaken by the election office of Golaghat and SVEEP Cell for attracting ruralites, youngsters, first time voters, people with physical disabilities and senior citizens to cast their votes in the forthcoming 2021 Assam Assembly Election.

"We have kept the local aspects in mind while chalking out the events under the SVEEP and our aim is to reach out to all sections of the electorate," GauriPriyaDeori, Election Officer stated.

According to the official sources, the multimedia activities would be carried out through print and electronic media as well through outdoor media so as to ensure that voters are made aware about all things keeping in view the forthcoming 2021 Assam Assembly Election.

The officials of district administration disclosing details about the SVEEP activities, Election Officer of Golaghat said that the primary agenda of SVEEP is to sensitize the voters regarding the importance of their vote and inspire them to cast their vote in a non-partisan and idealistic manner. The Election Officer also said that the SVEEP activities have also been going on earlier too but now with the assistance of State department offices and projects, colleges and NGOs the activities would be run in full steam both in urban as well as in rural areas. Bivash Ch. Modi, Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat appealed to the people of Golaghat district to participate in the forthcoming 2021 Assam Assembly Election by coming out in large numbers and exercise their right to vote.
