Golden jubilee programme cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic

DOOMDOOMA: The golden jubilee celebration committee of Doomdooma Rajahuwa Rongali Bihu Sanmeelan has cancelled all its programmes scheduled to be held this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On Thursday morning, only flag hoisting and smriti tarpan were carried out at Doomdooma town field by a few members of the committee while maintaining social distancing. The president of the committee, Arjun Baruah hoisted the flag while working presidents Mrigen Saikia and Anuj Kalita jointly initiated the smriti tarpan. The joint secretaries of the committee, Dhiraj Gohain and Rana Sonar, felicitated the distinguished persons present in the programme with a Bihuwan each.
