Gorkha body condemns eviction in Chirang district

UDALGURI: Pawan Luitel, president, and Purna Kirat Rai, general secretary of Udalguri district committee of Assam Gorkha Sanmellan, has vehemently condemned the forceful eviction of people without any intimation in Chirang district.

The organization has also alleged that the eviction task force led by forest officials had destroyed the documents and also taken away domestic goats and poultry of the inhabitants. The Udalguri district committee of Assam Gorkha Sanmellan has demanded immediate rehabilitation of the people.
