Gorkha Community celebrates 18th Romailo Tihar in Sonitpur, Assam

Sonitpur: The holy festival of Romailo Tihar of Gorkha Community was celebrated by the Gorkha Student Association ( GSA) in Bhongamandir, Sonitpur district of Assam.

As the chief guest Arjun Chetri, Central President, Assam Gorkha Students' Association, Ganesh Kumar Limbu, MLA of Barsala constituency and many other prominent personalities were present at the function.

They started the function by hosting the flag.

In keeping the tradition, they organized their traditional Deuchi-Bhaili competition.

As many as 22 teams from different regions took part in the Bhaili competition.

"The traditional Deuchi-Bhaili competition organized by Gorkha Student Association of Bhongamandir is creating an atmosphere of harmony among the people of various communities, races, and religions. And this proves the fact that Assam is a multilingual, religious state," Chetri said.
