JAMUGURIHAT: A get-together of the Gorkha students of THB College organized by the THB College unit of All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union was held on Saturday at Gamiripal Natya Mandir with Punam Devi in the chair. The open session began with illumination of ceremonial lamps by the students’ representatives followed by a spectacular chorus performed by the students of THB College.

After the chorus, an interactive session with the freshers’ was held on the stage. The open session was addressed by Anjan Baskota, a young journalist, as an appointed speaker. Dr Chinta Mani Sarmah, principal of Biswanath College graced the event as a chief guest. The open session was addressed by Chakrapani Sarma, artiste pensioner, Dr Tilak Sarmah, HoD of the department of Nepali, THB College, Raju Limbu, vice president of Sonitpur district AASGU, Bijay Chetry, education secretary of Sonitpur district AAGSU among others. Lekhraj Mugali and Sushmita Chetry conducted the proceedings of the freshmen social. A series of cultural programmes were performed by the students in between the main event.
