MANGALDAI: For the first time in the district, a state dispensary under the Health & Family Welfare department of the State government has been found to remain closed during the Kali Puja celebration on November 4. This exceptional incident has been reported at the State Dispensary at Dalgaon in Darrang district. On Thursday morning, all the patients and their attendants assembled in the dispensary complex were highly astonished to find the dispensary under lock and key.

However, they found a notice written on a blackboard stating that Dalgaon state dispensary will be closed on 04.11.2021 on account of 'Kali Puja.' Though two Medical & Health Officers (M &HO), five nurses on duty besides other staff have been appointed in the hospital, yet the closure of the hospital like other government offices has strongly been criticized here who also termed it as a record in the district. Though the in-charge Medical & Health Officer of the dispensary could not be contacted over the phone for his comment, yet a Sub Divisional Medical & Health Officer of that area simply expressed his ignorance over the matter and refused to make any comment.
