KOKRAJHAR: The second phase of Gunotsav-2022, which is an exercise to evaluate the performance of the students and schools in the state, got under way in Kokrajhar district from Monday with four-day schedule.

As per the schedule, on the first day, self evaluation was conducted by all schools on the reading skills of students and their schools and from May 24 to May 26, 2022, external evaluation would be done by the external evaluators on scholastic and schools.

Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka informed that a total of 1,23,441 students studying in class-I to class-IX in 1,611 Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Composite government schools of the district would cover in this evaluation process. She also informed about the detailed rounds of training that are being imparted to all external evaluators. Inspector of Schools, Kokrajhar, Jagdish Prasad Brahma informed that so far the department had appointed 671 external evaluators with 40 reserves, 1,611 nodal teachers and 283 liason officers.

Besides providing all necessary administrative support, including security arrangements for smooth conduct of Gunotsav in the district, the Kokrajhar district administration has taken steps to ensure greater participation of all stakeholders starting from teachers, students and communities in the interest of enhancing quality education.
