GUWAHATI: A grim incident unfolded in Guwahati's Athgaon area on Thursday morning as the lifeless body of a middle-aged man was discovered at his residence.
As per reports, the deceased is identified as Arun Kumar Jaiswal, a native of Bihar who operated a small shop within Guwahati city.
On Thursday morning, Jaiswal’s body was found hanging inside the bathroom of his rented apartment on Kedar Road in Athgaon. Reportedly, Arun Kumar had been residing in this rented flat alongside his son, Binay Kumar Jaiswal.
While initial details point to suicide as the cause of Arun Kumar's death, the exact reasons behind this tragic act remain unclear. Local authorities promptly responded to the distressing situation, with the city police swiftly arriving at the scene to initiate a thorough investigation.
Recently, the mysterious death of a youth in Noonmati region of Guwahati raised concerns within the local community and law enforcement authorities.
According to sources, the body of the deceased youth, identified as Raja Narzary from Kokrajhar, was recovered from a rented house in Jayanta Nagar. Raja worked in a private company and sources said that he had been missing since September 23. On Tuesday, Noonmati police had to forcibly open the door of a toilet where they found his body. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, prompting the Noonmati police to initiate a thorough investigation into this incident.
Meanwhile, in yet another similar news occurring in and around the greater city region, the lifeless body of a young, unidentified individual was found in Ward No 2 of Rangia. Local residents stumbled upon the body in a drainage area near the road early in the morning. The exact cause of death remains a mystery, prompting a thorough police investigation into the incident. Authorities have been actively working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the youth's demise, as additional information will be disclosed as the investigation unfolds, sources said.
