GUWAHATI: Hiren Bhatacharje Rachanabali by Bipuljyoti Saikia and Aai loi Chithi by Narendra Modi are the best-selling books so far in the 33rd Guwahati Book Fair.
On the 3rd day of the book fair on Friday, six books were released under Pragya, Mediahype Publication during a seminar held at the book fair.
"As of now we have two hot selling books among which Hiren Bhatacharje Rachanabali by Bipuljyoti Sakia is from our publication. On the second day we sold books worth Rs.62,000," stated Publication Board secretary Promod Kalita.
He also stated that the Publication Board took an amount of Rs 9,000 from every book stall and they were getting a good response from the people.
The Children Literary Trust is also receiving good response from the people and on the second day of the book fair, they sold books worth Rs. 13,000, said one of the employees from the Trust.
The 33rd Guwahati Book Fair will end on January10 and Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, among several others noted personalities will attend the concluding ceremony.
