Guwahati: At a time when the talents from Assam are hitting high in the national and international platforms, another Assam born girl is turning the heads for her mesmerizing beauty and stunning face. She is Madhulika Sharma from Guwahati who has so far been featured in the cover pages of popular international magazines like Grazia, Conde Nast Traveller, Travel & Leisure and Cosmopolitan.
This is not all, Madhulika has also come out as a ‘beauty with brain’ for she has also done fashion editorials for Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue along with also doing centerspreads for Elle, Verve and a lot of other magazines.
Madhulika’s success and shot to fame was not a fortnightly affair and for this, the model has certainly gone a long way. But the surprising factor is that she gained her goals and such enviable international fame silently enough to not let the Assamese media or others get a hint of it. The 20-year-old model is emerging as a rising star without anyone having a knowledge of it.
Madhulika has been able to earn such huge success and fame in her career as a model which perhaps is not yet touched by any Assamese model so far and has always dreamt of. Proclaiming her presence in world-class magazines like Grazia, Conde Nast Traveller, Travel & Leisure and Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Elle, Verve and a lot of other magazines, Madhulika has been a favourite face to showcase the designs of noted Indian designers and brands like Raw Mango, Bodice, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra, Good Earth, Shivan & Naresh, Patine, Sabyasachi, Manish Arora, Nanushka etc. Beauty campaigns for brands like Christian Dior cosmetics, Mac cosmetics, Beauty Blender, etc. are also in the model’s kitty. A regular ramp walker and campaigner in the international platform, Madhulika has been shot in the US and other destinations as well.
The Guwahati born lady did her schooling from Army Public School, Narengi (Guwahati). Speaking about her life and career, Madhulika says, “Modelling happened to me by accident. I never planned it. I had posted one of my photos on Instagram and that is how I caught the attention of the various modelling agencies while studying in Delhi.”
She further says about her first experiences in career and states, “My first campaign was for Anju Modi’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ collections. One of my landmark campaigns that proved to be a springboard for my career was Fabindia’s Rajwada Collection. The publication was immensely widespread and it was everywhere – from hoardings to bus stops to banners to magazines. This was in September 2016. I felt amazing and I saw myself magnified 10 times. People would stop and stare at me and I would feel very humble and grateful.”
The Assamese model, for her humble nature and ground-to-earth-attitude, has been doing amazingly well with the top-notch designers and brands and is hoped to soar high in the sk[y of fame and success.
