Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehends five cattle smugglers

GUWAHATI: In two separate operations, alert troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended five Indian cattle smugglers along with nine cattle heads from bordering area of village Kaleralga, PS– Kharuabandha, Distt –South Salamara (Assam) and North Balabhut, PS- Tufanganj, Distt – Cooch Behar (WB) on Sunday night.

Acting on tip-off, BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Sishumara and Boreralga of 06 Bn BSF carried out a joint operation in riverine area of Indo-Bangladesh International border. The Joint operation party apprehended four Indian cattle smugglers along with five cattle heads after hot pursuit, while cattle heads were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

In second operation, the BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Balabhut of 62 Bn BSF apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with four cattle heads.

Apprehended cattle smuggler identified as Bahadur Islam (20), stated a release.

Besides, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier in different operations launched in bordering area have seized 78 cattle heads, which were trying to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
