GUWAHATI: Maintaining the drive against narcotics smuggling, on October 4 and October 5, the vigilant troops under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force seized 253 bottles of prohibited cough syrup and 14 kgs of ganja from the Indo-Bangladesh border. It was being smuggled to Bangladesh.
Acting on a tip-off, on Monday, the troops of 192 Bn under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force, seized 175 bottles of prohibited cough syrup under the driver seat of e-rickshaw at Seoti-II village, in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal.
In various operations carried out, the troops of BSF Guwahati Frontier also managed to seize 14 kgs of ganja and 78 bottles of prohibited cough syrup from Cooch Behar.
Due to the vulnerability of the border, along with heightened activities of drug traffickers and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes including drug trafficking & illegal trans-border crimes. Hence, they are putting all of their efforts to prevent the commission of such crimes, stated a press release.
