GUWAHATI: In yet another success in its crusade against trans-border crime, on Thursday, the vigilant troops under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended 3 Indian nationals and 2 Bangladeshi nationals and also seized 50 bottles of prohibited cough syrup &11 kg ganja in various operations from the bordering area of Cooch Behar district of West Bengal and Dhubri district, stated a press release.
Acting on a specific intelligence input, troops of 129 Bn apprehended 2 Indian and 2 Bangladeshi nationals from Indo-Bangladesh border in Digaltari village under Sahebganj Police Station of Cooch Behar district while they were trying to cross the international border illegally. The apprehended persons have been handed over to Sahebganj Police Station for further legal action.
In another operation, based on specific information, on Thursday, troops of 06 Bn nabbed 1 Indian cattle smuggler along with cattle near bordering village of Ashmeralga under Kharuabanda Police Station of South Salmara district of Assam while he was attempting to smuggle cattle heads from India to Bangladesh. The apprehended smuggler has been handed over to Kharuabanda Police Station for further legal action.
