Guwahati: Horrific Murder Uncovered in City as Woman Brutally Slain by Husband

GUWAHATI: A shocking and brutal murder has come to the forefront in North Guwahati, where a woman fell victim to a vicious attack by her own husband. The harrowing incident unfolded in close proximity to the Manikarneswar Devalaya.

Sources reveal a distressing history of harassment and abuse endured by the victim, identified as Anupa Barman, at the hands of her spouse, Mohan Barman. The situation took a horrifying turn on Wednesday night, culminating in the untimely death of Anupa.

Promptly responding to the incident, the local police took Mohan into custody, and he now faces serious charges related to this heinous crime.

This tragic event casts a grim shadow over North Guwahati and serves as a stark reminder of the pressing need to address issues of domestic violence and ensure the safety of individuals within their homes. Earlier this year, in May, another heart-wrenching incident in the same region saw the brutal murder and secret burial of a young woman, Sadeja Khatun, at the hands of her lover in Rangmahal village, further underscoring the importance of addressing such violence and ensuring justice for victims.

Also, two grim incidents of homicide unfolded in Assam on Monday, both of which involved spouses as the victims of domestic disputes. In Assam's Dhubri district, a woman's life was tragically cut short, allegedly at the hands of her husband in the midst of a dispute over dowry.

The distressing incident occurred in Bandhapara at Bilasipara. According to reports, the deceased woman, identified as Anuwara Khatun, had endured a harrowing period of mental and physical abuse inflicted by her spouse and in-laws. The culmination of this turmoil resulted in her untimely demise.

Following her tragic passing, suspicions cast a shadow on the husband's family, leading the woman's bereaved family to register a formal complaint at the local police station. Authorities are presently engaged in ongoing investigations to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this heart-wrenching incident.

In a separate and equally distressing episode, a reported romantic relationship in Assam's Udalguri district took a violent and fatal turn. A man lost his life, allegedly at the hands of his wife and her lover, whose motivations appeared to be rooted in personal interests.
