Guwahati IPL 2023 Fans Will Be Entertained With Laser Shows, Folk Dances, Live Music

GUWAHATI: When the Rajasthan Royals (RR) play their "home" games of this edition in Guwahati, there will be more than just cricket in store for the fans. There will also be folk dances and laser shows.

One of RR's "home" venues is the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium, where the team will play the Punjab Kings on April 5 and the Delhi Capitals three days later.

"Cricket is undoubtedly the main topic. But in addition to that, the fans will also be given some top-notch entertainment on game day”, according to BCCI joint secretary Devajit Saikia. At both of the games, he stated that a first-of-its-kind laser show would be performed in between the two innings.

There will be the customary visual displays. A laser show that will be among the biggest ever in the entire Northeast is also being planned by the ACA, he continued.

On both days, cultural performances with a mixture of live bands and folk dances have been scheduled prior to the start of the game, he said.

Before both games, Assamese and Rajasthani folk dances will be performed. There will also be local singers and other bands performing. "The ACA is supporting local artists to give them a larger platform," Saikia continued.

Cultural performances will end 50 minutes before the commencement of the play. Prior to the COVID-19 epidemic, live performances were a regular occurrence in the majority of IPL matches.

Ranjit Barthakur, executive chairman of RR, said: "We are happy that the ACA is bringing back the entertainment component to the IPL matches through this. The squads from RR and Punjab Kings arrived in Guwahati on Monday.”

Important announcements regarding the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) games in the city have been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

The DCP underlined the roadmap and the steps taken to maintain a secure environment for both players and spectators during a news conference.

The revelation about vehicular travel was one of the press conference's main themes. According to the Deputy Commissioner, automobiles can go from Barsapara to Lokhra, but vehicles approaching from Lokhra will be restricted.   Moreover, both the highway and AK Dev Road forbid the use of heavy vehicles. These precautions have been taken in order to guarantee a steady flow of traffic and to prevent any undesirable situations.

Also, it was made known that some objects, including helmets, water bottles, and others, are not permitted inside the stadium. In order to protect everyone's safety and prevent any objects from being thrown into the playing field during the games, this decision has been made.
