GUWAHATI: In a broad day robbery incident in Assam's Guwahati city, a man has been robbed of Rupees 2 lakh by two unidentified bike-borne miscreants.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday 8 April in the Rukminigaon area of Guwahati city. the whole incident are captured on the CCTV camera on the spot.
The victim has been identified as Ghanakanta Das, a resident of Guwahati who was looted while he was returning home after withdrawing money.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Das came out of an SBI branch in Rukmininagar after withdrawing a number of Rupees two lakh from the bank.
As he walked a few miles from the bank, two bike-borne miscreants came towards Das and snatched his bag where he kept the money withdrawn from the bank.
It is informed by sources that the duo allegedly took away the bag and escaped from the spot before anyone could reach to assist Das.
Later, Das lodged an FIR against the bike-borne miscreants in the Dispur Police station which is on the GS Road of Guwahati. It may be mentioned that several incidents are repeatedly occurring in different areas of the city where huge amounts are looted.
Complaints are registered in various police stations but there are very few cases where such miscreants are arrested and punished.
In another similar incident in the city, two bike-borne miscreants robbed Rupees 3 lakh from two persons who are employed in the Indane- Guwahati's Nabajati Gas Agency.
The miscreants allegedly snatch the bag with cash from the two men on the road near KFC which is in the Lachit Nagar area of Guwahati.
The two people at the time of the incident were carrying the money for a deposit at the Bank of Baroda but unfortunately, it was stolen on their way to the bank.
