Guwahati: Serious Accident in Dispur Injures Two Bikers

GUWAHATI: According to reports, two teenagers were critically injured in a horrific motorcycle accident in Guwahati on Tuesday night. According to preliminary reports, the motorcycle with registration number AS 01 EP 6507 was approaching at high speed before losing control and colliding into a barrier near Dispur in Guwahati.

Both motorbike riders were thrown away as a result of the incident.Meanwhile, one of the youths involved in the collision was transported to the adjacent GNRC hospital, where his condition was described as critical. He is said to be in better shape and will make a full recovery.

It is unclear as of now whether the two were under the influence of alcohol, or a technical snag in the motorcycle led to the accident.

Soon after the accident, a team of Guwahati Traffic Police personnel reached the scene. They helped in shifting the injured to hospital. Further details are awaited.

Earlier, a terrifying road accident took place on Sunday. According to reports, during afternoon hours, a passenger bus turned turtle near Holy Cross School, Disobai under Bakalia police station, one person died on the spot while twelve other passengers sustained serious injuries. Later, the injured passengers were admitted to Bakalia Civil Hospital for treatment. According to passengers, the accident took place while the bus driver was busy on a phone call and the bus was moving at high speed. Suddenly he lost his control and the vehicle turned turtle. According to reports, the bus bearing registration number AS02DC/3204 was coming from Dimapur city of Nagaland and was on the way to Mairabari, Nagaon.
