HAILAKANDI: The Hailakandi district administration has urged the citizens to use cVIGIL App to report any Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations during the entire election period.
District Development Commissioner and In-charge of Election Expenditure Monitoring and Model Code of Conduct (MCC) Cell, Ranajeet Kumar Laskar said that MCC is in force in the entire election district and any sort of violation of MCC will be viewed very seriously. Laskar appealed to the people to use cVIGIL App to report any instances of MCC violation for ensuring a free and fair election.
"Members of the public can directly contact the district administration through the use of eVIGlL App developed by the Election Commission of India specifically for ensuring free and fair elections," quipped Laskar. The cVIGIL App, which stands for 'Vigilant Citizen' is an important digital tool for reporting any type of violation of MCC guidelines. People with Android smart phones can easily install the cVIGlL App from the 'Google Play Store'. Once installed, users can easily upload photos and video clips of two-minute duration on cVIGIL as well as text any incident of MCC violation in their locality and share the same with the district control room directly by pressing the mobile button. A 24x7 control room has been set up by the election authorities here to receive election related complaints. "Once information is received from a citizen through cVIGIL App at the Control Room, a field unit consisting of Flying Squad and Static Surveillance Teams will rush to the spot and within 100 minutes a message will be communicated about the action taken," said an official manning the control room.
