HAFLONG: The Halali Progressive Welfare Society (HPWS), Haflong, an organization of the former Dima Halam Daogah (DHD), in an emergent meeting held at Town Raji Hall on Saturday, resolved to carry out a democratic agitation to demand CBI inquiry into the Santosh Hojai killing case; the demand also included the implementation of Memorandum of Settlement between the Government of India, Government of Assam and the DHD. The meeting was presided over by Dilip Nunisa, president of HPWS, wherein more than hundred ex-cadres of DHD were present. Later, a memorandum was submitted to Union Home Minister Amit Shah with a plea for immediate arrest of accused DSP SK Morang and implementation of the Memorandum of Settlement. The memorandum stated that the former DHD lost two of its cadres - Rajesh Naiding, who was killed in 2014, and Santosh Hojai, kidnapped and killed in 2020. Meanwhile, many civil societies have also submitted memoranda, demanding immediate arrest of the accused, DSP SK Morang, and a CBI probe into the killing.
