LAKHIMPUR: Taking a unique step, the trainees of Dhakuakhana Normal School of Lakhimpur district have published a hand-written magazine named Srijan. The 64-page magazine has been edited by Dambaru Gohain, the DLEd third semester trainee of the school, under the supervision of guest instructor Rajib Baruah and instructor Aparajita Borgohain.

The maiden issue of the magazine was released on Tuesday on the occasion of the Saraswati Puja. It was released by Puspa Gogoi, a prominent writer-cum-teacher, in a ceremonial programme organized at the Normal School auditorium. The programme commenced with Principal Lakhi Konwar in the chair.

Releasing the magazine, Puspa Gogoi said that the readers could get different subject-matters for their knowledge and experience the manifested thoughts of a number of people from various walks of life through any magazine published by any institution or organization, be it hand-written or printed. "Talent of a person is not perfect until it is cultured. With their unique talent, only human beings can herald the intellectual movements expressing their thoughts through words. Magazines propel the intellectual movement ahead," Puspa Gogoi added.
