Guwahati: On Wednesday, heavy rainfall had triggered a landslide in the Pandu area of Guwahati

The heavy rain had caused an under-construction wall to fall on a house that belonged to one Prabin Das. This was caused by a landslide that has occurred in the area.

This incident has been reported from the Pandu Vishnu Mandir Sangjogi Path in Guwahati.

The family members of Prabin Das's household managed to save themselves in the nick of time.

On Tuesday, an old lady was reportedly electrocuted to death in her waterlogged home. The deceased is a resident of Pandu's Tin Pukhuri area and has been identified as Mehendi Baruah.

"As the locals informed, a rescue team immediately rushed to the site and brought the lady out of the water-logged home in a critical condition," said an official of the Fire Service Station-Pandu while addressing the media.

The woman could not survive the electric shock and was declared dead at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Tuesday night.

As per reports, the heavy rains in the city had water-logged her home in a very short period. Household items including the inverter were inundated in the floodwater resulting in electrocution.
