BISWANATH CHARIALI: A relief camp was held on Thursday by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (L) of Air Force Station, Tezpur for COVID-19 and wild elephant-affected poor people of the areas falling under the East Sonitpur Division, Department of Forest, Biswanath district.

Air Force Wives Welfare Association is a welfare organization for the wives of all personnel in the Air Force and it also extends its helping hand to poor and needy people of the society. To help the needy people during the pandemic, AFWWA donated ration packets to the forest administration for distribution to villagers. Essential commodities in huge quantity, including rice, dal, mustard oil and flour were donated for the affected people.

The programme was attended by Seema Singh, president of Air Force Wives Welfare Association (L) of Air Force Station, Tezpur, Flight Lieutenant Aseem Garg, Warrant Officer Kamlesh, Beat officer Bhaskar Baruah and other forest staff. Seema Singh assured that they would always be ready to help the civil population of Sonitpur and Biswanath districts in tough times and similar camps would be held in future too.
