Hema Malini aka 'Dream Girl' Arrives in Guwahati for Nalbari Raas Festival

ASSAM : Veteran actress of Bollywood and BJP MP Hema Malini, popularly referred to as the 'dream girl,' arrived in Guwahati on Monday to attend Raas festival in Nalbari. Hema Malini landed in Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport (LGBIA) on Monday,at around 10am. According to sources, she will attend Raas festival in Nalbari in the evening today.

The Nalbari Raas committee, accompanied by officials of the Tourist Department of Assam, reportedly greeted her with a warm welcome. Hema Malini proceeded to Radisson Blu hotel from the airport. As per the reports she will be stationed there before leaving for Nalbari. Dream Girl will be attending the festival as a Chief Guest today.

This is the 89th edition of the Raas Mahotsav of Nalbari district in Assam. This year it will be a 13 day celebration in Sri Sri Hari Mandir. The budget is approximately Rs 80 lakhs this year for the entire event. Apart from the local artists, guest artists from several other states will also be performing during the festival. Several dignitaries were present in the opening ceremony, The Minister of Tourism and Skill Development of the Government of Assam accompanied by the local member of the Parliament, Jayanta Mallabaruah.

Ashok Sharma, the president of the temple management committee of Sri Sri Hari Mandir, stated that, he felt proud to host the flag of this Rasotsav and ever since he has been elected as the President of the 89th Raas Festival Committee, he have been trying to organize the event perfectly in every way. Several other dignitaries were also present in the opening day. Ministers of the Assam Cabinet Chandra Mohan Patowary and Pijush Hazarika were seen attending the ceremony. Prior to this year, the Raas festival was organized unceremoniously due to Covid-19 situations for two consecutive year. Hence, everyone has a lot of expectation this year.
