KOKRAJHAR: North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convener and State Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, during his whirlwind election rally in lower Assam, especially in BTR, asserted that this time the nangal (symbol of BPF) would go to the museum while the tractor (symbol of UPPL) would go to Dispur after May 2.

Sarma along with the Chief Executive Member of BTC and president of the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) PramodBoro attended the huge roadshow of the UPPL and BJP at Kokrajhar on Friday evening. The grand political rally started from DN Himatsingka Playground, Santinagar where a public meeting was also held for UPPL candidate Lawrence Islary for 30-Kokrajhar East. The vice-president of the State BJP and MLA Ashok Singhal, candidate Lawrence Islary and RajyaSabha MP BiswajitDaimary also addressed the huge gathering.

Addressing the gathering, Sarma said that the people of the region had already rejected the BPF-led by HagramaMohilary. UPPL president PramodBoro said that the people of the region had lost faith in the BPF due to its dominant factor, corruption and nepotism in the last 17 years. He said there would no longer be domination by BPF and misuse of power. The UPPL-led council government had been giving priority to peaceful coexistence and security of all communities and equal development of all, he said. He also said that all 12 candidates of UPPL and BJP would win in BTR in the election.

RajyaSabha MP BiswajitDaimary, who is also a candidate of the BJP from Paneri constituency, said that the BPF had lost all its earlier credentials.

The roadshow with a large number of supporters of UPPL and BJP covered around 5 km in Kokrajhar town connecting Santinagar, Subhashpalli, RN Brahma Road, JD Road, Baganshali to Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) playground.
