TINSUKIA: Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has rolled out Mission HO 2 PE in Assam.
As part of Mission HO 2 PE, HUL's Doomdooma factory has donated two ventilators, three oxygen concentrators and face masks to the ADC Tinsukia, and subsequently to Civil Hospital, Tinsukia to provide support for COVID-19 care. Additionally, HUL factory site team is also supporting the neighbouring tea garden community by sanitizing row houses, stated a HUL press release.
To supplement severe shortage of O2 concentrators the Mission HO 2 PE, HUL has airlifted over 5000 oxygen concentrators into India. Through Mission HO 2 PE, HUL will provide access to oxygen for Covid-19 patients. 'Mission HO 2 PE' is also being rolled out in other severely affected cities such as New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh. HUL will also be donating 1,000 concentrators to hospitals in nearly 20 locations across India, the release stated.
HUL Doomdooma factory team is also in discussion with the government authorities to facilitate vaccination for over 1,000 employees, contract workers, and their families on an urgent basis besides facilitating as well as covering the cost for vaccination of its outer core of around 3,00,000 people, including those who work for suppliers, distributors as well as Shakti Ammas in rural areas, the release added.
